It’s About Time(ing)
Recap: one of my goals this semester is to create an animatic for an excerpt from Ray Bradbury's Here There be Tygers. And although it is far from where I imagine it to be, you could say I have a very rough draft. Technically. As in, my thumbnails are timed to a voice recording.
This is my first time using Storyboard Pro. I've known for some time that it would be worth the investment, so why not start now? I've previously used Procreate and After Effects to time out my stories, but it's nice to use a program designed for this.
Progress:
This week, I recorded a voice track and timed it out. Then, I started sketching some of the main poses and backgrounds. I have character concepts for the three main characters somewhat completed. I've also revised some of the plot points for my second personal story, Vermillion, which I will be working on later in the semester.
Over the next few weeks, I hope to get more comfortable drawing within Storybaord Pro. I need to better understand the program, and I'm sure my workflow will get more refined as I keep practicing in it. My plan from here is to take the rough sketches and layouts and push them toward completion.
